Salvia ‘Mystic Spires Blue’ (Meadow Sage)
- Scientific Name: Salvia longispicata x farinacea
- Salvia is a blooming annual that is known for its tall colorful blooms and vigorous growth that make it last well into the fall. It has upright stems and small speared foliage that support richly colored tubular blooms that are well-suited for pollinators, such as hummingbirds and bees.
- Salvia 'Mystic Spires Blue' is a compact version of 'Indigo Spires' and has bunches of small blue blooms that cover its slender stalks, almost resembling a violet lavender. It will grow to 12-36" tall and 6-12" wide. It performs best in full sun.
- Salvia should be cut down after its first round of blooms are spent. After slashing off the spent flower stalks, usually around mid to late summer, fertilize your salvia so that it blooms strongly into the fall season.
