Hellebore in White Cachepot

One of the first perennials to emerge in the Connecticut garden, low-maintenance Hellebore is beloved for its exquisite, long-lasting blooms in shades of ivory, muted mauves, and luxurious burgundy. We bring you a thoughtfully curated collection of the showiest varieties available throughout March and into April. Great height for early-spring container gardens, these collectible plants can be planted in garden beds when they are finally done blooming. PRO TIP: Hellebore is a slow-growing tender perennial that likes minimal grooming, as excessive pruning will harm the plant. Left to its own devices, Helleborus mounds will nearly double in size with each new season, allowing for separation and propagation, if desired.
