All About Christmas Trees, Wreaths, and Greens at McArdle's!

Gearing up for Christmas at McArdle's:

Hello again, friends! No matter how you celebrate this Holiday season, we want to send our best wishes from our family to yours. For those of you who do celebrate Christmas, you've probably started thinking about your Christmas Tree, wreaths, garlands, &c. Luckily, we're here to help! I'm here to tell you about all of our selections this winter, and how to get them for your very own. So, hitch up the sleigh and let's go for a ride.

Our Christmas Trees:

Fraser Fir Trees Eagerly Awaiting Their Chance to Bring Holiday Cheer

Our Christmas Tree department exclusively carries Fraser Fir Trees in a wide variety of sizes. We choose these trees because they have the longest needle retention rate of fir trees. In practical terms, this means less vacuuming and more Christmas fun. We source our trees directly from their native environment in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and have worked with the same grower for 15 years.

When you select your tree, we offer two types of delivery. If you've got a lumberjack in your family, you could choose standard delivery. This means we will leave the tree outside your home, and you can cut, trim, & install at your leisure. You do not need to be home for a standard delivery. On the other hand, we also offer installation service. This means our team will show up with tree, saw, and stand in hand and install the tree for you. You can let us know exactly where to place it and we'll take care of the rest, including clean up. Once the season is over, we also offer tree removal service. If we do install your tree, the delivery slots are between 8AM and 12PM or 12 and 5PM. We do ask that you remain at home for the full window so deliveries run seamlessly.

Wreaths, Grab-n'-go and Custom Options:

A McArdle's Wreath of Mixed Greens, Pine Cones, and Berries

We have a fabulous selection of wreaths this season from plain boxwood, to mixed evergreens, to wreaths decorated with berries, pine cones, branches, bows, and more! Feel free to stop into our garden center, and have a look at all our lovely wreaths. If you're impressed, but don't see quite what you need, we can create a custom wreath for you! Let us know what look you want to achieve, and we'll make it happen. We also carry over the door wreath hangers in our garden shop, so you don't even have to break out a hammer or nails. Our wreaths come as small as 10" inches across all the way to huge 90" wreaths. So, with the help of our team, you can choose the perfect statement for your door, window, or gate.

Cut Evergreen Gardens and Loose Christmas Greens:

Woodland Style Cut Evergreen Gardens

To the right, you'll see a cut evergreen garden. These beautiful gardens are made by inserting fresh greens into top soil. This year, they come in two styles, traditional and woodland. It's the woodland that you see on the left. You can order either by clicking on their names. You can also browse our full collection of outdoor planters by clicking here.

Our cut evergreen gardens are created in paper mache pots so you can pop them right into your pots. Like our wreaths, we often have a great selection of these ready made for you to grab when you stop in to see us. They come in two sizes, small and large. The small mache containers measure 8.25" wide by 8.75" deep while the large maches measure 10.50" wide by 11" deep. So, measure your containers and come pick up some holiday cheer! Or better yet, let us deliver these beauties straight to your pots.

Garland, Loose Greens, & Evergreen Care:

If you need garlands for your banister or eve, we have it in a variety of compositions. We sell it by the yard and by the coil. For loose greens, swags, and mantle pieces, just stop into our garden center and check out the selection.

Once you get your greens home, you'll want to take a few steps to keep them as fresh as possible. All the greens love cold, and would prefer to be kept out of direct sunlight. All greens, excepting magnolia, also do best when kept wet. You can mist them, and moisten the soil to help them keep their luster. Magnolia, on the other hand, like it dry. Over time, magnolia leaves change from a glossy green color to a soft sage green as they dry.

How to Get Your Christmas Greens:

If you're interested in bringing home your own sprig of holiday cheer, stop by our garden center. One of our sales team would be happy to show you all the options, help you select and customize them, and have them delivered right to your front door. If you're looking to bring some greens into your home for the scent, Balsam is best. Fir would do as a second choice, but balsam would be the most fragrant.

Also, if you're interested in having your home decorated fabulously without lifting a finger, you could reach out to our At Home team. They do on site decorating & landscaping service. They can trim trees, hang wreaths and garland, string lights, and all the rest. They're like a crew of elves this time of year. To schedule an appointment with them, just give us a call at 203-661-5600.

So, thanks for reading, friends! If you have any more questions, give us a call at 203-661-5600 or email us at [email protected] We're glad to help you out, and get you ready for the coming Holidays.
